Enrollment Procedures

Dual Language Open Enrollment Procedures

In situations where openings are limited, the Superintendent or designee may give priority to certain students. Understanding that a dual language classroom is made up of 50% native English speakers and 50% native Spanish speakers, applications from each language group will be selected in the following sequence established in 3113 Board policy:

  1. Students residing in the District boundary, but outside the attendance area, whose siblings attend the school
  2. Students residing in the District boundary, but outside the attendance area
  3. Students whose parents are employed by the District
  4. Students residing outside of the District boundary, whose siblings attend the school
  5. Students residing outside of the District boundary

Additionally, the Superintendent or designee may deviate from the above priorities in order to take into consideration unique circumstances or extraordinary factors.

(*Preschool students enrolled at Whitney or Whittier are considered to be future enrollees at their neighborhood homeschool and will be placed in the appropriate category based on that homeschool.)

For the complete Board policy regarding open enrollment, please see policy 3113 at http://www.boiseschools.org/board/policy/index.html

Those admitted into the program will be notified of program placement through the mail and will have one week to confirm final acceptance by mailing or dropping off the parent contract.
