This is the image for the news article titled North Junior High School National Academic Champions🏆 Congratulations to these North Jr. High students, who won a national championship in the 2024 National Academic Championships (NAC)! 👏 The NJHS team included 9th Graders Grady Noble and Scarlet Fields; 8th Graders Ike Snyder, Rachel Cooper, and Sonia Guyton and 7th Grader Christopher Irwin.The National Academic Championships feature competitive teams of four players each answering questions across various academic subjects, including literature, history, science, geography, math, popular culture, and current events. Teams nationwide compete in qualifying tournaments throughout the school year for a chance to advance to the National Preliminaries. Successful teams at this level then vie for a spot in the National Playoffs.

There were 40 teams throughout the nation who qualified for the National Preliminaries and 16 of those teams advanced to the National Playoffs. On their route to the championship, North Jr. High won all of their playoff games and averaged the most points per playoff game.
