SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION:
Registration will open on Monday, APRIL 1, 2024.
Select session AND time block.
Within each time block, choose .1 Classroom first or .2 Drive first.
ALL SUMMER CLASSES WILL BE M-F AT FAIRMONT JR. HIGH. NO ONLINE OPTION.
COST FOR SUMMER SESSION IS $285

FIRST SESSION – May 29 thru June 26, 2024

SECOND SESSION – July 2, July 8 thru August 2, 2024 (NO CLASSES JULY 3, 4, 5)

TIME BLOCK CHOICES:
A 7am-10am .1 Classroom 7-8:30 Drive 8:30-10 | .2 Drive 7-8:30 Classroom 8:30-10

B 10am-1pm .1 Classroom 10-11:30 Drive 11:30-1 |   .2 Drive 10-11:30 Classroom 11:30-1

  **A Driver Permit is required BEFORE registering for a class. The cost of the Driver Education Permit is $26.50. This fee is paid directly to the Ada County Driver�s License Department at 400 N Benjamin Lane. Checks for the permit should be made payable to Ada County Sheriff. This fee is non-refundable. They will give an eye test, collect the fee and issue the receipt for the Driver Education permit. Students should bring the receipt to the first day of class.

ALL ITEMS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT:

  • TO PROVE DATE OF BIRTH, EACH STUDENT MUST PRESENT: AN ORIGINAL CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT THE TIME THE PERMIT IS PURCHASED. (STUDENT MUST BE 14 1/2 YEARS OLD)

  • PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (student activity card, military ID, or passport) 

  • SCHOOL VERIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE letter. This must be picked up from the administrative assistant at your child's school. The Ada County License Department will only accept a written verification on a school letterhead with the principal's signature or designee, and the school seal or stamp affixed. Home schooled students will require an affidavit from the DMV which must be signed by their parents. Boise Online School students can pick up their VOC at the District Service Center (8169 W. Victory Rd). All other online school students (outside of the Boise School District) need to contact their school's Administrator.

  • SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS will be required for the issuance of a driver education permit.

  • When going to obtain your permit, make sure you have a legal parent with you as both parent and student have to sign for the permit.

  • Students are required to take and pass a vision test to receive a permit.
  • Tell the staff at the Ada County License Department to send the permit to Boise School District.


REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY.
