Stay Up-to-Date with Your Boise Schools
At Boise Schools, we believe that clear and consistent communication is vital to the success of our students and the satisfaction of our community. We use a variety of communication tools to ensure that parents, guardians, and patrons stay informed and engaged with what's happening in our schools. Here's a comprehensive overview of the tools we use at the district level.
*Note: your schools may use some of these tools as well and will send out separate communication about the communication tools they use.
Text Messaging
Stay informed about urgent and important information through our text messaging alert systems. We send out alerts for:
SchoolMessenger (Parents & Guardians Only)
SchoolMessenger system to deliver emergency text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about school closings, safety alerts, etc.
-
You can participate in this free service* just by sending a text message of "Y" OR "Yes" to our school district's short code number, 67587.
-
You can also opt-out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with "Stop".
SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.
You'll want to repeat the opt-in process for any wireless numbers that you wish to include.
In addition to performing the opt-in process above, please ensure that our District has your wireless number(s) in our student information database.
Remind
In addition to SchoolMessenger, the Boise School District, our schools and many of our teachers, coaches and support staff use Remind for both emergency and non-emergency text messaging, including:
Remind also allows parents and students to choose their preferred language for both receiving and sending messages.
You may want to adjust your notification settings for Remind to meet your preferences. You can choose to receive notifications via email, text, or through the Remind app. You are also able to choose different preferences for each communication source, such as a classroom, a school, or the Boise School District. You can also turn off (or on) certain types of notifications, such as reactions to messages.
