Quick & Easy Ways Parents Can Have More Control Over
Your Student's Cellphone and Chromebook
As a school district, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our students, both in school and online.
We understand that smartphones and other devices can be a valuable tool for students, both for learning and staying connected with friends and family. However, it is important to ensure that your child is using their device responsibly and safely.
Mobile Phone Parental Controls
To that end, we would like to provide you with information on how to turn on the built-in parental controls on your child's phone. These controls allow you to set limits on your child's screen time, manage the apps they can install and use, and filter inappropriate content.
Please refer to the step-by-step instructions below on how to turn on parental controls on your child's phone.
Chromebook Parental Controls
In addition, all district-provided Chromebooks are filtered using GoGuardian. We monitor the student devices during school hours and filter the internet all hours. However, with the GoGuardian Parent App, you can control screen time, block additional websites, and/or turn off the internet on the Chromebooks outside of school hours (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Please check out the link below to get started with GoGuardian Parent.
We believe that these parental controls can be a valuable tool in helping you protect your child online. By working together, we can ensure that our students are using their devices safely and responsibly.
