Whittier Elementary - Update

Work to rebuild Whittier Elementary School on the same site is estimated to start in October of 2017, with an estimated completion date of December of 2018.

When finished, the new Whittier Elementary School will provide students, staff and the school community with a modern educational facility to better meet the needs of today's and tomorrow's students.

The new Whittier Elementary School will help address current student overcrowding, improve student and staff safety, meet modern education standards, and honor the overall mission of the school.

 

February 5, 2019: Staff and Students moved in on January 28, 2019. Beniton Construction is still completing punch list items and miscellaneous exterior work.

 

February 28, 2019: On Thursday, February 28, 2019 the official dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the new Whittier Elementary School, made possible thanks to voters who passed the 2017 Bond election to renovate and rebuild schools in the Boise School District. August 7, 2019: Beniton Construction has completed all building punch list items.Exterior landscape work, including the soccer field irrigation, is nearing completion. Sod will be placed on the soccer field beginning August 12, 2019.

 

September 2019 (old Whittier): Remodel work in the Whittier Elementary Old Building is completed. Site improvements including parking lot and pocket park hardscapes are complete.
